How can working together and taking charge change our world?

The party members are the ones who are running the show in the book 1984, they are the ones who are in control of what every one else is doing. The thing about the party members is that they are educated and know exactly what they are to the people of Oceania. They have better lives than the proles. They wear black jump suits, and dedicated only to Ingsoc and Big Brother.

The proles are the ordinary people, the people who go to work and live every day lives, but the difference of the proles from the party members is that proles are not educated, because if they were that could lead a revolt against Big Brother, and that isn't wanted by the party members The proles have horrible jobs and lives, the same thing every day. If they even think to do something different, they will be questioned. The party members have the proles brainwashed into thinking that this is the way that life should be, and they go along with it. Is it just because no one has the courage to take charge? If they each knew who else wanted to revolt, would they work together?

Winston Smith is a prole, whom works in the Ministry of Truth, he is one of the few that is becoming disgusted by Big Brother and the party members. He begins to revolt by writing illegally in a diary about what he really thinks. In Winston's room it is just like any other proles room, basic furniture, nothing fun or lively. And there is a large telescreen in which can not ever be turned off.

Winston discovers a new room though, a room above the shop owned by Charrington, which filled with elaborate and beautiful furniture, something that no one has seen or owned. This room is so great to Winston because there is no telescreen. And that is a gift itself. He rents this room so that he can have a love affair with Julia.

So far in the book, it is easy to see that the party uses its power and works together, very hard, to make sure that no one thinks for themselves, they work to make sure that no one else can acquire such power that they have, So that no one can ever over throw them. Winston has finally found some one who thinks the way he does, this means that many more could be out there too, but it is risky business to discover these people. If more people turn out to be like Winston and Julia, will they all team up and work together to take down the party and Big Brother?

This could all work out very well because it is easy to assume that more people are out there that are thinking the way that Julia nad Winston are, so they could all come together in their own ways and begin to work together. Team work can be very strong when there is a purpose behind it, although it could be hard for them to arrange this, it could benefit them a lot in the end.

The team work that the Party uses it scary because there are rules and punishments if something is done wrong and bvecause there are so many of them they seem like they could never be beat but if the Proles teamed up together they could be just as powerful and strong as the Party, they could even overthrow it if they wanted.

By taking charge of their own lives they could change the lives of every one else and eventually maybe even change their world, but they must be able to take that first step - take charge. Winston and Julia are showing a clear sign of team work by both expressing that they don't like Big Brother and by breaking the rules that they are expected to follow.

With team work and taking chrage of their lives, they could very easily change their world.
